About Us
The Padmasambhava Buddhist Center was established in 1988 by Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche and Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche, with centers in locations throughout the world, including Tibet, India, Russia, Puerto Rico, and the United States.
We would sincerely like to express our many thanks for the generosity and commitment of our Sangha members and friends in supporting the Venerable Khenpo Rinpoches’ vision of compassion and wisdom in Tennessee and around the world.
Highly regarded for many years as leading scholars and
practitioners of the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, they are also masters of the Dzogchen teachings and meditation. Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche is from the last
generation of Tibetan Abbots to have been trained in Tibet before his escape to India in 1959. After many years in India, they began teaching in the United States at the request of His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, and after some years here founded Padmasambhava Buddhist Centers International. Be sure to read the Venerable Khenpo Rinpoches’ full biographies.
The Khenpo Rinpoche’s first began teaching in Tennessee in 1987, and in 1990 Padmasambhava Buddhist Center of Tennessee was established. Now one of region’s largest Tibetan Dharma groups, we meet regularly at the PBC Yeshe Tsogyal Temple in Nashville, and hold annual retreats led by Venerable Khenpo Tsewang Rinpoche in Nashville and at Padma Gochen Ling, our retreat center outside of Monterey, Tennessee.
