Please join us at any of our 5 weekly meetings at our new center:
Sundays- Discovering Buddhism
Join us Sunday mornings for the "Discovering Buddhism" series at 11 AM. Especially for beginners, but also for experienced students, the program includes meditation, chanting, readings, and instruction in the basics of Buddhism. It lasts about an hour. Some newcomers find a brief orientation helpful; if you'd like one, or just to ask a few questions, please arrive 5-10 minutes early.

Tuesdays- Traditional Practice
Tuesdays we meet at 7 PM.
These nights are all about practice-- an hour-plus session of the style of meditation unique to Tibetan Buddhism, including chanting in Tibetan, Sanskrit and English. From time to time, we start with brief instruction to help make the practice more meaningful. The Tuesday program is geared for regular practitioners, but anyone is welcome. The entire evening lasts about an hour and a half.
Wednesdays- Calm-Abiding Meditation & Instruction
Wednesday night meetings are focused on calm-abiding, a foundational
practice found in most schools of Buddhism. Through focusing on the natural breath, increased inner peace and awareness can be achieved over time.
These meetings are for beginning meditators seeking to ground their practice as well as
|
more experienced students wishing to further refine their awareness and technique.
Wednesday meetings begin at 7:30 PM and last for an hour. Optional instruction and orientation is offered to those who arrive at 7:00.
For more information or questions about meditation, please email Hunter at meditation@pbc-tn.org.
Fridays-- Heart Sutra Practice
One day on Vulture Peak in India, the Buddha listened to two students expound on the interrelationship of all things. Their historic exchange became the text for one of the most profound and inspiring practices in Tibetan Buddhism.
One of the few Tibetan prayers spoken mostly in English, with a drum carrying on the inspiring cadence, the Heart Sutra contains the essence of all Buddhist doctrine-- at once simple and very profound.
The Heart Sutra practice is offered at 11:30 AM and lasts for about an hour. (New Time)
