THE FIRST NASHVILLE BUDDIST FESTIVAL

On October 4, the first-ever Nashville Buddhist Festival, a collaboration of three different groups to inform and "enlighten" others on Buddhism, exceeded our most ambitious dreams. Several hundred people attended this historic joyous and informative occasion.

Besides PBC, our brothers and sisters from the Nashville Vipassana Group and The Nashville Zen Center contributed greatly to the celebration.

Below are pix from the event:

People from all walks of life come together to be part of the stillness and joy.

A Therevadan Monk leads meditation after an inspiring teaching.

Panelists from all three traditions. Has someone told a joke?

Kirby Shelstad of PBC leads a chanting session.

It was a very lovely Saturday. Good karma!

A wonderful Zen teaching.

Yoga Source's Dianne Avice Du Buisson begins her instruction with a dedication before we all became pretzels!

In the distance, a monk sits like the statue of the Buddha nearby.

Norris and Annie of PBC inspect a Tibetan ceremonial object. Several attendees walked away with objects like this to aid their practice.

The photographer obviously likes Gerald and Norris.
